Micho is named after Georges & Daniel Daou’s sister, Michelle, who passed away from breast cancer in 2010. The wine was inspired by Michelle but created to honor everyone who has been impacted by the disease.
For the month of October, DAOU will donate a portion of the proceeds from each bottle of Micho to Susan G. Komen, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer.
Michelle Daou is ultimately an inspiration to us all, serving as a strong reminder to celebrate each day and to cherish every moment we have together.
Fierce, Loyal & Spirited: The Story of Micho
DAOU is, at its core, all about family.
It begins with the rich family heritage of founders Georges and Daniel Daou, and it extends to each and every person they welcome into the world of DAOU. As Georges says, “It’s not all about wine, music or beautiful venues. It’s about improving the lives of others.”
It is no surprise, then, that the brothers named three of our flagship wines for family members who had an immense influence on their lives: Soul of a Lion, Mayote and Micho.
Soul of a Lion is named after their father Joseph, while Mayote is an homage to their mother Marie. And Micho is a wine that honors their sister Michelle, who passed away from breast cancer in 2010. Together, these wines tell the story of a family and a journey.
